Our House

Our house is going to be undergoing some changes in the coming months. Workers have already dug the hole that will become our basement. And, at the end of the process, we will have a new family room and screened in porch as well. Here is a "Before Picture."

Where did this month go?

I knew it had been awhile since I had posted any pictures on the blog. But I just figured out that it has been almost a month since we have been on it. So here are a few highlights from the past month.

We were blessed with over 14 inches of rain in the last month. And since Nathan LOVES to throw rocks into puddles, he has had a blast outside.

Because of all of the mud that we have had, we got Nathan some bright red galoshes to wear, which he loves wearing inside and outside!

He got to go on the four-wheeler with Daddy.

And Nathan has now become capable of feeding himself 98% of the time. (Notice the ketchup on his plate??? That is new too and he LOVES it!)

Trip to San Diego

Nathan and I just got back from a very fun trip to San Diego to see Aunt Megs, Uncle John, and cousin Lydia. We did a lot of things in the three short days we were there.

We went to the park:
We went to the San Diego zoo:
We went to the beach: (It was Nathan's first time seeing the ocean and he loved it!)

Nathan and Lydia had a great time together and got along so well. And so that last night that we were there, Lydia decided that she wanted to do something for Nathan so that he would always remember this trip. So she drew a very pretty picture on Nathan's bedbug so that it would match hers.

Trip to Nebraska

A couple of weeks ago we took our first family trip to Nebraska to see Uncle Michael, Aunt Melinda, and cousins Olivia and Jillian. Nathan had an awesome time playing with his cousins! And we had a great time spending the Fourth of July with all of the kids.

 Dancing to some bluegrass music...

Watching fireworks from the safety of the deck. Nathan actually enjoyed watching them for a good hour before one of them scared him and he decided that he was ready to go inside.

Mr. Destructive

Nathan loves playing with his toys, as well as other items around the house. But he has become quite destructive lately. Here is a picture of one of his favorite toy tractors, minus its loader because it has been completely broken off by one curious little boy.

Just Hanging Out

Well, the days of summer are passing very quickly for us. Luckily, much of our time has been spent just hanging out at home, relaxing. And today we were treated to very mild temperatures, so Nathan and I have spent much of the day outside.

Water Table

Yesterday was the first day that we played outside with Nathan's new water table. Our little "Surfer Dude" really enjoyed it!!
