Trip to San Diego

Nathan and I just got back from a very fun trip to San Diego to see Aunt Megs, Uncle John, and cousin Lydia. We did a lot of things in the three short days we were there.

We went to the park:
We went to the San Diego zoo:
We went to the beach: (It was Nathan's first time seeing the ocean and he loved it!)

Nathan and Lydia had a great time together and got along so well. And so that last night that we were there, Lydia decided that she wanted to do something for Nathan so that he would always remember this trip. So she drew a very pretty picture on Nathan's bedbug so that it would match hers.

Trip to Nebraska

A couple of weeks ago we took our first family trip to Nebraska to see Uncle Michael, Aunt Melinda, and cousins Olivia and Jillian. Nathan had an awesome time playing with his cousins! And we had a great time spending the Fourth of July with all of the kids.

 Dancing to some bluegrass music...

Watching fireworks from the safety of the deck. Nathan actually enjoyed watching them for a good hour before one of them scared him and he decided that he was ready to go inside.

Mr. Destructive

Nathan loves playing with his toys, as well as other items around the house. But he has become quite destructive lately. Here is a picture of one of his favorite toy tractors, minus its loader because it has been completely broken off by one curious little boy.

Just Hanging Out

Well, the days of summer are passing very quickly for us. Luckily, much of our time has been spent just hanging out at home, relaxing. And today we were treated to very mild temperatures, so Nathan and I have spent much of the day outside.

Water Table

Yesterday was the first day that we played outside with Nathan's new water table. Our little "Surfer Dude" really enjoyed it!!

In the Grain Truck

Granddad Jim set Nathan in our old grain truck this morning while Brian was filling up the planter. It is hard to imagine that one day Nathan will be able to easily look over that steering wheel!

Applesauce

Nathan has started using a spoon to eat some foods on his own (mainly applesauce). We typically take his shirt off before giving him the spoon because, while he does get a lot to his mouth, much of it lands on his chest.

Right after I took the above picture I started to put my camera away and Nathan indicated that he wanted me to continue taking pictures. Well then he started just hamming it up for the camera!
